INDYCAR: Hunter-Reay, Montoya explain practice crashes at Pocono

Pocono's last two IndyCar race winners Ryan Hunter-Reay and Juan Pablo Montoya both face tough weekends after practice crashes wrecked their qualifying days. Hunter-Reay, the 2015 victor, was first to crash when his Andretti Autosport Dallara-Honda snapped into a spin exiting Turn 1 early in opening practice on Saturday and hit the outside wall so hard it started to tip top-first into the SAFER barrier (see video below). The 'domed skids' and safety flaps installed for 2016 to reduce lift in accidents appeared to do their job as Hunter-Reay's car landed back on four wheels before sliding to the inside barrier.
