Max Chilton wrecks during Saturday practice

We've just had our second incident of the week at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Indy 500 rookie Max Chilton wrecked heavily out of Turn 2, just six minutes into pre-qualifying practice. Right before the accident, the ex-Formula 1 driver had put up a 228.359mph lap. Chilton lost control of his Ganassi Chevrolet on corner exit, doing a complete spin and hitting the outside wall nose-first, coming to a stop partway down the backstretch. He has been checked and released from the infield medical center. Like Pigot's incident from earlier in the week, the car stayed grounded and did not lift off. Practice action got back underway after a ten-minute stoppage.
