Spencer Pigot crash halts Wednesday Indy 500 practice - video

Indianapolis 500 rookie Spencer Pigot has crashed heavily out of Turn 1, two hours into Wednesday practice. 9362367 Pigot, the 2015 Indy Lights champion, is driving the No. 16 for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing in his first Indy 500 this May.  About two hours into six hours of practice scheduled for today, he lost control, spinning backwards and slamming the outside wall at corner exit of Turn 1. He has since been checked and released from the infield care center. The session was stopped for 18 minutes while repairs were made to the SAFER barrier. At the time of the incident, Pigot was 15th-quickest with a fast lap of 223.667mph.
