INDY 500: Pigot first to suffer crash at IMS

Spencer Pigot had just turned a lap of 223mph when he was introduced to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway walls on Wednesday afternoon. "Not really sure what happened but before I knew it I was facing backwards," the 22-year-old rookie from Pasadena, California, said after being checked and released from the infield hospital. "The car was feeling good, we were making improvements and I'd just turned my fastest lap. "I just feel bad for my crew because it looks like I hurt the car pretty bad."
