Wilson airlifted to hospital following Pocono crash

Ryan Hunter-Reay won a crash marred Pocono 500 as the IndyCar Series title fightback took a backseat following a huge accident involving Justin Wilson. Andretti Autosport driver Hunter-Reay beat Josef Newgarden with Juan Montoya claiming a fighting third to extend his lead heading into next week’s finale at Sonoma to 34 points. Will Power was fourth ahead of Carlos Munoz, Takuma Sato, Simon Pagenaud, Ryan Briscoe and Scott Dixon in ninth. Earlier title contenders Helio Castroneves crashed out on lap 167 of the 200-lap affair while Graham Rahal was taken out by Tristan Vautier just short of halfway but remains second in the points race.
