Walker quits as IndyCar competition chief

– Derrick Walker has resigned as IndyCar President of Competition and Operations, with a search for his replacement under way, the series announced on Thursday.Walker, who took on the role in 2013, oversaw various key changes, including the introduction of aero kits, investment in Race Control technology and the arrival of new events."I have appreciated the opportunity to work closely with the team owners, drivers and the team at IndyCar," said Walker, who will officially leave his position on August 31, after the 2015 season."After two and a half racing seasons, I believe the timing is right to move on to other opportunities.""We have benefited from...
