Castroneves paces hectic Carb Day practice

Helio Castroneves earned the final bragging rights ahead of Sunday's Indianapolis 500, claiming the fastest time on Carb Day punctuated with multiple yellow flags. The Team Penske driver claimed the top spot with a 227.377 mph lap, with Andretti's Takuma Sato (226.802 mph) and Ganassi's Tony Kanaan (226.757 mph) rounding out the top three. Prior to Castroneves' effort, which came two-thirds of the way into the hour-long session, the driver to beat was Fernando Alonso, whose 226.608 mph was still good enough to keep him fifth fastest at the end of the session, the Spaniard finishing up just behind Scott Dixon.
