IndyCar: Series set to introduce LED position lights

After testing a LED car position system during Spring Training in March on the KV Racing Chevy piloted by Stefano Coletti, the Verizon IndyCar Series is set to introduce the lights as a permanent addition to the Chevy- and Honda-powered Dallara DW12 chassis. The LED panels, which will be mounted on both sides of the car to indicate the position each car is presently holding during a session or race, were received by the series last week. "We have always intended to get all the cars with that system onboard for the Indy 500," IndyCar president of competition Derrick Walker told RACER.
