Schmidt-Peterson confirms third driver for Indy 500
Schmidt Peterson Motorsports has filled its third Indianapolis 500 berth after announcing that Conor Daly will join season regulars James Hinchcliffe and James Jakes in the line-up. The 23-year old American will drive the #43 Honda-powered Dallara for his second start in the blue riband event, with the announcement coming just days after he filled in for the injured Rocky Moran Jr at Dale Coyne Racing at Long Beach. “I am ecstatic to partner with Schmidt Peterson Motorsport for the 99th running of the Indianapolis 500,” Daly said, “I have had a great relationship with Sam Schmidt since driving for him in Indy Lights and I've always wanted a shot with his Verizon IndyCar Series team....
