INDYCAR: Schmidt expects both drivers back in '17

Sam Schmidt expects to keep Schmidt Peterson Motorsports' full-time IndyCar lineup of James Hinchcliffe and Mikhail Aleshin in place next season. The Canadian star, who earned pole position at this year's Indy 500 and is coming off a podium performance at his home race in Toronto, has another year left on his contract with SPM. The Russian sophomore, who is riding a pair of top-six results into this weekend's race at Mid-Ohio, has expressed his intent to return for his third season with the team, and provided it happens, it would mark the first time SPM has achieved year-to-year driver continuity since 2013 when it expanded to two cars.
