Rain delays Texas IndyCar race by an hour

Tonight’s Firestone 600 at Texas Motor Speedway has been delayed until 8.45pm Central Time. Here also is the grid lineup. Following thunderstorms from noon and further inclement weather until 4.30pm, Texas Motor Speedway’s track surface and pitlane have required a lot of work from jet dryers and ancillary vehicles to try and dry it out. The schedule now sees the cars lined up on pitlane from 7:50pm local time, driver introductions and parade from 8:00pm, followed by the National Anthem and flypast just past 8.30pm. Green flag will wave on third time by at 8.45pm for the first of 248 laps of the 1.455-mile track, with no tow-ins allowed within the last 20 laps of the race. The grid...
