Chaves crashes at Texas
Gabby Chaves spun into the wall after just eight minutes of the opening practice session at Texas Motor Speedway. The Colombian’s Dale Coyne Racing-Honda appeared to bottom out at Turn 3, pivoting the car around broadside, before it backed into the Turn 4 wall. The 2014 Indy Lights champion stepped out unaided, but appeared winded. However, he was checked at the medical center and cleared to drive. He said: “I wasn’t even charging. I was just getting up to speed, and I don’t know what happened. “I think I just hit a bump and the rear came out. “It’s a bit shocking.
