IndyCar: Qualifying for Detroit GP Race 2 canceled

For the second time this season, Juan Pablo Montoya will start a race from pole position based on being top of the championship table. IndyCar threw the red flag a couple of minutes after starting qualifying for the second group in the 12/11 split session at Belle Isle this afternoon, when standing water was deemed to be too deep to continue safely. Biggest winner in this will be Team Penske’s Montoya who was in the first group and wound up fifth fastest, earning a fifth-row berth on the grid.
