IndyCar: Munoz captures first win in scrappy race in Detroit

Smart tactics, error-free driving and not jumping the gun in switching from slick tires to wets proved key to Carlos Munoz earning a fine first victory in the Verizon IndyCar Series. The Colombian stayed out longer than any of his rivals as team strategists followed their radars rather than actuality, and by the time the race was halted for lightning in the area after 47 laps, the Andretti Autosport driver had almost half a minute lead over his teammate Marco Andretti.
