Montoya presented with $2.4 million Indy cheque

Team Penske driver Juan Pablo Montoya has been presented with a $2.4 million cheque for his effort to win the 99th running of the Indianapolis 500. At the official banquet for the race, Montoya pocketed a cool $2,449,055 in the 200-lap race that took a tick under 3 hours and 6 minutes. It meant that Montoya’s hourly earnings for the Indy 500 stood at $790,000. Montoya snatched victory inside the final laps from Australia’s Will Power who was presented with a $792,555 cheque for finishing second, 0.1s behind his team-mate.
