Indy 500: Briscoe to sub for Hinchcliffe in No. 5 Honda
Verizon IndyCar Series veteran Ryan Briscoe will step in to pilot James Hinchcliffe's No. 5 Honda for this weekend's Indianapolis 500. The Schmidt Peterson Motorsports team has scheduled a press conference Thursday morning to announce the 2012 Indy 500 polesitter as the Canadian's stand-in. IndyCar is also expected to announce a window of opportunity for Briscoe to get acclimated with the 2015-spec Honda aero kit in speedway trim, and to complete whatever level of refresher course is deemed necessary by the series.
