Hinchcliffe undergoing surgery after crash

– James Hinchcliffe has been hospitalised and is undergoing surgery to his left thigh after a vicious crash during practice this afternoon for the Indianapolis 500.  The Canadian, who qualified P24 yesterday, smashed into the wall on the exit of turn three after it appeared that something broke on the car.He was awake and alert following the incident before being transferred to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in downtown Indianapolis.  IndyCar officials confirmed the surgery is to his left upper thigh, and as of 16:00 local time, he was listed in stable condition.Hinchcliffe's previous lap was at 221.322mph after clocking his best lap of 223.916.  The crash occurred...
