Saturday Indy 500 qualifying canceled, times deleted

Rain showers have put a halt to qualifying for the Indianapolis 500. INDIANAPOLIS - Rain has won the day at IMS with qualifying cancelled and events shuffled for Sunday. Carlos Huertas and Ryan Hunter-Reay posting a time before the caution was called for moisture as Scott Dixon completed his first lap. Within minutes, heavy rain came pouring down and has not relented. Per a release from the series, "All of today's activities, procedures and times have been canceled and deleted." Therefore, the times put down by Huertas and RHR will not count.
