IndyCar museum exhibit opens in New England

A new IndyCar exhibit has opened this month approximately 50 miles southeast Boston at the Heritage Museums & Gardens in Sandwich, Massachusetts: "Start Your Engines! Cars and Stars of the Indy 500." "We wanted to be sure to show the evolution of race car design," said Jennifer Madden, the museum's director of collections and exhibitions. "As you go through the exhibit, you'll see how engineers were experimenting with body design to make the cars as aerodynamic as they could." The diverse selection of cars provided by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and private owner Joe Freeman, starts with a 1913 Duesenberg, the oldest selection on display, and spans more...
