Foyt crew member injured during pit stop practice

A.J. Foyt Racing mechanic and refueler Pat Jordan was injured during Friday's dedicated pit stop practice session when he was struck by the No. 14 Chevy driven by Carlos Munoz. According one official who witnessed the impact, it appeared the car failed to slow after turning into the pit box and made hard contact with Jordan, who suffered multiple broken toes. Although Jordan wanted to continue refueling this weekend with his foot in a walking boot, the team has asked him to rest and heal for the remainder of the season. Surgery will be required to correct his broken toes. Munoz, racked with guilt, made his way to the medical center to check on Jordan as soon as he was accessible. The...
