Scott Dixon on top after delayed opening practice at Texas

Scott Dixon has ended the opening practice session ahead of the Rainguard Water Sealers 600 around the Texas Motor Speedway fastest, after a delayed start to proceedings due to a rain delay. The start of the first practice session endured a significant delay after heavy rain struck the oval, forcing drivers to wait for the inclement weather to pass and the track to dry out before beginning their weekend. Once the track had dried out the 22 drivers were naturally keen to begin preparing for the qualifying session later in the day, with many drivers immediately taking to the track once the green flag was out.
