Zach Veach left it until his 11th of 12 laps to nail his fastest time and land pole at Road America, beating championship contender Santiago Urrutia by 0.0139sec. Veach delivered a 127.456mph lap to grab his first – and Belardi Auto Racing’s second – pole position of the 2016 season. Veach, who cruelly missed out on victory at the season-opener in St. Petersburg, is without his regular teammate Felix Rosenqvist this weekend, as the Swede is on DTM test duty for Mercedes-Benz in Europe.
