Josef Newgarden hospitalised after high-speed crash at Texas race

Josef Newgarden has been hospitalised with shoulder and wrist injuries following a high-speed crash with Conor Daly in the Texas Motor Speedway IndyCar race. Newgarden was struck by Daly's Dallara-Honda as the Dale Coyne Racing driver got sideways on the exit of Turn 4, taking out both cars and forcing Newgarden's Ed Carpenter machine into the SAFER barrier, with the cockpit grinding against the wall. Whilst Daly managed to walk away from the incident, Newgarden, who initially stepped out of his car with the help of a marshal, collapsed on the circuit and was stretchered off to the medical center.
