INDY 500: Kanaan tops Carb Day practice

Tony Kanaan topped a busy Carb Day at Indianapolis Speedway, the Ganassi driver ending the final Indy 500 practice session with a best lap of 226.280mph. Kanaan posted his time 15 minutes before the end of the session to unseat erstwhile leader Carlos Munoz, although the Andretti driver's 224.772mph effort was still good enough to keep him second fastest. Scott Dixon, Will Power and Ryan Hunter-Reay rounded out the top five. The track remained very active right through the session, which was extended by 10 minutes following an early caution for debris.
