Slade leaves it late to top first Winton practice

Walkinshaw Racing’s Tim Slade topped the V8 Supercars practice session for the Winton SuperSprint. Slade was a late improver in the one-hour session, charging to second place on his second last lap, before grabbing top spot with a 1m23.893s lap just 11 seconds before the chequered flag came out. That lap was good enough to drop Triple Eight’s Whincup down to second, the margin between he and Slade just 0.003s.
