Dixon paces Texas IndyCar practice

Verizon IndyCar Series points leader Scott Dixon took to the repaved and reconfigured Texas superspeedway and charged to a best lap of 223.422 mph during the 75-minute opening practice session. "Obviously the weather is much different than when we tested and it's supposed to be a lot warmer tomorrow, but we learned some things and it was a good session," Dixon said. "It really doesn't matter where you qualify here but I think we've got a decent setup." The four-time IndyCar champion was in a league of his own as Honda-powered drivers claimed the top six spots.
