Speeds eclipse 226mph at IMS as teams debut superspeedway aero kits

We can only expect these speeds to increase as we go further into the month of May. The first real test of Chevrolet and Honda's superspeedway aero kits came at the yard Bricks today as teams and drivers took to the famed circuit for the first of many test-practice sessions, preceding the Indy 500. The four-hour session went on without incident. As expected, the cars were very fast. Nine cars topped 225mph with Team Penske's Juan Pablo Montoya the fastest of all, completing a single lap at 226.772mpg (39.6874 seconds).
