Miles: Halo device not possible for IndyCar
– Mark Miles, CEO of IndyCar's parent company Hulman & Co, believes that the proposed 'halo' head protection device, favoured by Formula 1, would not be suitable for the US-based series.Formula 1 has been striving to increase head protection, with the halo, which wraps around the cockpit in the form of three struts, favoured by the sport over the 'aeroscreen', briefly trialled by Red Bull.The introduction of the halo, initially planned for 2017, has been delayed until 2018, in order for more developmental work and assessments to take place.Miles, though, reckons a windscreen would be a more favourable solution for IndyCar."We don't see that – the halo – having any...
