INDYCAR: Bourdais responds to Power over VSC
The winner of Saturday's Verizon IndyCar Series race in Detroit has added his thoughts to the topic of introducing a Formula 1-style Virtual Safety Car (VSC) system after it was raised by Sunday race winner Will Power. The practice with the VSC, which differs greatly from IndyCar's practice under caution, slows the field as it passes through a zone where a stricken car or other problem is being rectified. It effectively freezes the field in place, and maintains the gaps between cars – however big or small – before they exit the VSC section and resume racing.
