Spencer Pigot joins Ed Carpenter Racing for IndyCar street/road course races

2015 Indy Lights champion Spencer Pigot has joined Ed Carpenter Racing for the remaining street and road course races in the 2016 IndyCar season. Pigot made his IndyCar debut with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing at St. Petersburg before racing at the 100th Indianapolis 500 last weekend, where he was classified five laps down in 25th position. Eponymous team owner and oval specialist Ed Carpenter did not field a second driver for the early-season road and street course rounds, leaving Josef Newgarden as his sole entry.
