Practice update: Penskes up the pace, Andretti cars stay top

At the four-hour mark in Wednesday practice, Simon Pagenaud and Juan Pablo Montoya moved into sixth and seventh in the time charts, but Ryan Hunter-Reay’s morning time remains unthreatened. Pagenaud and Montoya set fastest laps of 226.109 and 225.904mph respectively to move the Penske-Chevrolets firmly into the top 10, but remain 2mph off the times set by Andretti Autosport-Hondas this morning. Aside from Matt Brabham needing a tow-in at 3.20pm local time, the middle third of the session was uneventful since Spencer Pigot’s crash.
