Simon Pagenaud's pit strategy, pace – and luck – proved formidable enough to beat Chip Ganassi Racing's Scott Dixon to the checkered flag and clinch the 42nd Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. The #22 Penske driver had a lucky escape from censure after he put all four wheels over the blend line as he exited the pits on his crucial final stop.
