Castroneves beats Dixon to Long Beach pole

– Hélio Castroneves will start on pole for the 42nd Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach tomorrow, three-tenths of a second ahead of Scott Dixon in an all-Chevrolet Firestone Fast Six. The Brazilian and his competitors were left with a one-lap shootout in Q3 after Will Power spun and brought out a red flag (losing his lap times in the process).Simon Pagenaud and Tony Kanaan were a further 0.3s back, themselves separated by just 0.05s, ahead of Juan Pablo Montoya.Dixon and Montoya were fastest in their group of Q1, only separated by one-hundredth of a second, in a group that surprisingly saw Graham Rahal and Charlie Kimball fail to advance.
