Long Beach aquarium expansion won’t affect IndyCar’s grand prix

The $53-million expansion of the aquarium in Long Beach, Calif., will not cause any disruption to the Toyota GP of Long Beach, say race organizers. The Pacific Visions building, to be added to the existing Aquarium of the Pacific, will not encroach on the famous Long Beach track, either during its construction, nor after completion. San Francisco company EHDD has designed the extension to resemble a blue whale, but although it will be 29,000 sq.ft., it will stretch into the space available on the plaza, where Aquarium Way meets Golden Shore.
