Chilton secures IndyCar drive with Ganassi

Former F1 driver Max Chilton has been confirmed at Chip Ganassi Racing for the 2016 IndyCar season. The British racer competed in two F1 seasons for Marussia, claiming a best finish of 13th place in Australia and Bahrain 2014. He was not retained when the team returned under the Manor name in 2015 and instead switched focus to American single-seater racing, driving for Carlin in Indy Lights. Chilton competed in a partial campaign with the team, claiming one win and five further podium finishes to end the year fifth in the standings.
