IndyCar: Road America test an eye-opener for drivers, fans
The return of Indy cars to Road America during Tuesday's test was a welcome sight for all the drivers and an eye-opener for the ones who raced there eight years ago in Champ Car. "I was shocked at the speeds – I didn't think there was any chance we'd go that quick," said Graham Rahal, who came within a tenth of second of his '07 qualifying run in the DP-01 chassis which had more horsepower than today's DW-12 Dallara-Honda. "I think our minimum speed in the Carousel was 136mph and that was boogeying. We went into Turn 1 at 118 or 199mph and these things were also pretty quick in a straight line.
