IndyCar modifies oval-spec aero kits

– IndyCar has added closure panels to the rear wheel guards of both the Honda and Chevrolet superspeedway aero kits for this weekend's Texas event.Multiple crashes overshadowed the build-up to last month's Indianapolis 500, with Ed Carpenter, Josef Newgarden and Hélio Castroneves all going airborne after hitting the wall.The extra panels will also be applied at Auto Club Speedway later this month, and Pocono Raceway next month, the penultimate round of the 2015 campaign."This has been a collaborative effort with both manufacturers and they have been working on these since the Indianapolis 500 qualifications," said Will Phillips, IndyCar vice president of...
