IndyCar: Filippi tops Saturday practice for CFH Racing

He may have only qualified 19th for this afternoon's race, but Luca Filippi put a smile on the faces of the CFH Racing team members with fastest time in morning practice at Detroit on Saturday. The Ed Carpenter/Sarah Fisher/Wink Hartman-owned team has suffered a torrid month at Indianapolis on both the road course and the Speedway, with a lot of promise shown and not much fulfilled. And yesterday Josef Newgarden added to the frustration with a hefty smack of the Turn 13 wall at Belle Isle. But this morning, Filippi narrowly edged the best  that Team Penske and Chip Ganassi Racing could throw at him to set a 1min16.7466sec lap around the 2.35-mile course.
