Percat and Smollen secure pole for Porsche Pro-Am

V8 Supercars driver Nick Percat and co-driver Shane Smollen will start the first Carrera Cup Pro-Am race at Phillip Island from pole position. Smollen put the pair on course for pole position in the first of the split qualifying sessions, going second fastest behind John Goodacre. Then Percat finished the job in the ‘Pro’ session, going third fastest to give the #56 the best combined time. The Sonic Motorsport entry of Dylan Thomas and Nick Foster will start second, the pair finishing sixth and fifth respectively from there sessions, while Goodacre and Cameron McConville will start third, despite the latter being just 10th fastest in his session.
