Hinchcliffe injuries were 'life-threatening'

Thanks to the prompt and efficient response by safety workers, James Hinchcliffe is resting in stable condition today. INDIANAPOLIS - Motorsport.com has learned more details surrounding James Hinchcliffe's injuries and the true severity of the crash has been revealed (VIDEO). Upon hitting the wall after a right-front pushrod failed (at a reported 125Gs), a wishbone (suspension piece) penetrated the safety cell that protects each driver. The piece went through Hinchcliffe's right leg, upper left thigh, and into his pelvis. The injuries have been described to Motorsport.com as 'life-threatening,' but due to the quick response of IndyCar's medical team, he is resting in stable condition...
