No ‘bump day' as 33-car entry list confirmed for 104th Indianapolis 500
IndyCar has confirmed a full field of 33 cars has secured entry into the 104th running of the Indianapolis 500 on August 23. With the maximum number of entries filled with no extras, no traditional ‘Bump Day' proceedings will take place on the second day of qualifying. This will mean all 33 drivers will start the race – should their cars survive the practice sessions in the lead up to the event. The prestigious event was set to host a limited number of the fans, but last week those plans were abandoned due to the Covid-19 pandemic, meaning the race will be held behind closed doors for the very first time.
