Detroit IndyCar: Dixon scores 42nd victory, defeats Andretti trio

Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon took a commanding victory at Belle Isle to defeat three Andretti Autosport-Hondas, as last year’s Detroit double-header dominator Graham Rahal crashed out. A very clean start saw Marco Andretti’s Andretti-Herta Autosport-Honda hold off Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing), Robert Wickens (Schmidt Peterson Motorsports), Alexander Rossi and Ryan Hunter-Reay in two more Andretti Autosport cars. Will Power’s Penske-Chevrolet lost out to the two Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing-Hondas of Takuma Sato and Graham Rahal (the only driver to start on blacks) while.
