Indy 500 qualifying on hold for rain
Heavy rain has hit Indianapolis Motor Speedway minutes before qualifying for the 101st Indy 500 was set to begin, postponing its scheduled 11 a.m. ET start. The delay will help for drivers like Spencer Pigot and Zach Veach, whose teams are hustling to repair crash damage from Fast Friday practice. With overcast skies and cool weather, Gabby Chaves led Saturday morning's final practice, while his Harding Racing team announced plans to race at additional ovals on the 2017 calendar. Confused about the qualifying process? An explanation can be found here. For a Fast Friday recap from Marshall Pruett and Robin Miller, head here. Stay tuned for updates.
