IndyCar drivers find new value in sports car racing
Verizon IndyCar Series drivers have a rich tradition of competing in big sports car endurance races prior to the launch of their open-wheel season, and this year, almost half the full-season grid came away from the Rolex 24 at Daytona with an invaluable advantage: mileage. Thanks to IndyCar's drastic reduction in test days, many drivers will arrive at the championship opener in St. Petersburg with a bare minimum of time in their respective Chevy- and Honda-powered Dallara DW12s.
