IndyCar: Castroneves grabs pole as storms halt qualifying

Team Penske-Chevy’s Helio Castroneves has become the opportunist of the Verizon IndyCar Series paddock, as for the second consecutive race weekend, he swooped in to grab P1 as more fancied runners – basically, his teammates and Scott Dixon –failed to topple the brave Brazilian with their first flying laps. Castroneves, who won the inaugural race here at Barber Motorsports Park back in 2010, lapped the 2.38-mile course in 67.1925sec to chalk up his 43rd pole position, as thunderstorms within a 10-mile radius halted proceedings early for the sake of safety.
