MILLER: Scott Dixon – reluctant hero

Last Thursday, walking into a restaurant in Manhattan Beach, Parnelli Jones was stopped three times for autographs and once for a photo. He hasn’t raced an Indy car in 48 years. Last Saturday night walking down Ocean Blvd. in Long Beach, Scott Dixon wasn’t approached by anyone and pretty much blended in with the scenery. He passed Bobby Unser on Sunday in career victories with 36 by winning his first Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.
