Stoneman tops Indy Lights practice at Iowa

Andretti Autosport’s Dean Stoneman, currently second in the Indy Lights championship, emerged quickest from the two Friday practice sessions at Iowa Speedway. Lapping the 0.894-mile course in 19.7097sec, he clocked an average of 163.290mph in the early afternoon session which held as fastest of the day, ahead of Team Pelfrey’s Juan Piedrahita whose best also came in the first session. Points leader Ed Jones put Carlin Racing top in the second session and third overall, with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports’ Santiago Urrutia fourth. Zachary Claman De Melo was fastest Juncos Racing entry in fifth, with Zach Veach fifth as the American spends a second consecutive race flying solo for Belardi...
