Newgarden transported to hospital after Texas crash

– Josef Newgarden has been transported to a Fort Worth hospital following a large crash in the early stages of the Firestone 600 on Sunday.Newgarden impacted the outside SAFER barrier cockpit-first after Conor Daly lost control of his car and speared sideways into his fellow American. Newgarden's car immediately turned onto its side from the heavy hit before sliding into the SAFER barrier with its roll hoop.Daly was able to get out of his car, but crews had to assist Newgarden from his.
