INDYCAR: Newgarden tops Detroit warm-up

Josef Newgarden, who starts a disappointing 14th in the first Dual in Detroit later today, paced the Saturday morning warm-up session with a lap of 1:14.464 in his Preferred Freezer Chevy. Scott Dixon was second quick in the Target Chevy at 1:14.839 and Ryan Hunter-Reay was at 1:14.973 in the DHL Honda. Polesitter Simon Pagenaud had the fifth best lap of 1:14.990 in Roger Penske's Chevy.SPM had an exciting 30 minutes as James Hinchcliffe spun and backed into the wall, sustaining minor damage to the Arrow Honda and was back out a few minutes later.
