INDYCAR: Pagenaud tops Power for Barber pole
Simon Pagenaud's mojo carried over from Long Beach as he earned pole in the No. 22 Team Penske Chevy on Saturday at Barber Motorsports Park. Pagenaud's lap of 1:06.7262 bumped teammate Will Power from the top spot as time ended in the session. Power's 1:06.9421 was 0.2159 seconds slower than Pagenaud, who added one point to his championship lead for earning the pole. "It was awesome," the Long Beach winner said. "What a great qualifying for the PPG car. Thanks to Ben [Bretzman, engineer], the car was really nice on the [Firestone] red tires. We knew the tires were good for one quick lap.
